MV "Kurt J Crosby" has been the name-sake and flagship vessel of Crosby Tugs Inc., a company that filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in February 2026.

A judicial sale for the disposition of the Crosby Tugs Inc. fleet was held in August 2026.  The Vessel MV "Kurt J Crosby" was returned to its creditors.

Karatzas Marine Advisors & Co. (KMA), has been given exclusive mandate for the marketing and sale of the Vessel whether in the Jones Act / U.S.-market or internationally. Therefore, KMA is the only authorized ship-broker for the sale of the Vessel, with direct access to the Sellers and the Vessel.

Vessel is offered for sale free and clear of any mortgages,  liens and debts, including vendor debt, as evidenced by appropriate order of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. 

Any marketing and brokerage of the Vessel by any third  parties is not authorized, and hereby both Sellers and KMA explicitly disavow any responsibility for payment of any ship-brokerage commissions in addition to the ones stipulated in the exclusive mandate by KMA.
