MV "SVL Honduras"

MV "SVL Honduras" is a small general cargo / gearless containership vessel built at a European shipbuilder (Pattje Shipyards - The Netherlands) in 1999. The Vessel has a nominal intake of appr. 350 TEU with 60 reefer plugs, one (1) cargo hold and three (3) cargo hatches.

The Vessel has been classed by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) bearing notations ✠ C+ AUT-UMS; ICE- class IA; General Cargo Vessel.

The Vessel had been on a weekly schedule between Honduras and Port Everglades, Florida, for the last several years.

In February 2026, while en route to Port Everglades, the Vessel experienced an explosion in its main engine (MAK 8M 32 Non reversible / 3,840 Kw at 600 rpm), and its Owners decided to sell the Vessel instead of repairing the engine damage.

The Vessel itself is intact (bridge, superstructure, cargo hold, etc) and it has remained crewed and insured ever since the main engine explosion. The main engine explosion has caused soot damage in the engine room and affected electrical wiring in the engine room, but otherwise, it has not caused any additional damage to the Vessel.

The Owners of the Vessel have engaged Karatzas Marine Advisors & Co. as the exclusive broker for the marketing and sale of the Vessel.

The Vessel may be considered a demolition candidate.

However, given the overall sturdy European construction of the Vessel and given that the majority of the equipment onboard the Vessel are of European origin and made, and they are generally intact, the Vessel may be deemed suitable for repairing for a buyer with interest in such undertaking and access to trade the Vessel in a region requiring such small vessel.

The Vessel is offered for sale on either "as is, where is" basis or, upon suitable contracting, the Sellers may undertake to have the Vessel towed and delivered ("delivered basis") to a buyer's designated facility.

Therefore, Owners, via Karatzas Marine Advisors & Co, invite offers for either a) demolition candidate or b) further trading, on c) "as is, where is" basis or d) on delivered basis.

The Vessel was surveyed by Karatzas Marine Advisors & Co in January 2026 and there is extensive set of images from all section of the Vessel prior to the main engine explosion; the Vessel was also surveyed by same firm post main engine explosion whereby extensive set of images of the Vessel were taken.
