Basil M Karatzas Obtains Accredited in Business Valuations (ABV) Qualification by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)
New York City, January 10th, 2020 - Karatzas Marine Advisors & Co., a New York-based shipping finance and ship-brokerage firm, is pleased to announce that Mr. Basil M Karatzas, CEO & President of the firm, has recently achieved the Accredited in Business Valuations (ABV) certification by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), having fulfilled all educational, ethics and exam requirements. Further to the qualification, Mr. Karatzas as an ABV credential holder, has also become a member of the AICPA Forensic and Valuation Services (FVS) Section.
Upon receiving the credential, Mr Karatzas stated: “We are thrilled having obtained the ABV accreditation and becoming formal members of the Forensic and Valuation Services (FVS) of AICPA. The new accreditation, in addition to our holding the Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) for Machinery & Technical Specialties qualification, allows us to serve our clients in our marine appraisal practice with deeper insight and confidence, both for valuation of shipping assets but also valuation shipping companies. We expect to be building upon our credentials further with more accreditations in the very near future, setting us further ahead from our competitors, in order to provide full coverage for marine survey and marine appraisals for inland and brown-water Jones Act assets to international shipping and complex offshore energy and offshore wind assets.”
